The doll in the window

Submitted by totil on Sat, 09/26/2009 - 17:46

— But isn't this a bit unusual after all? she heard her mother whisper softly. I mean … to have the child loiter in the window like a shop window doll?
— No, no, Howard cheered. We have always done it like that. Its part of a carefully thought out marketing strategy by the bank.
— Market … ? Albertinas dad was confused and Howard continued, somewhat impatiently:
— Now look, my good people! The house does not sell by it self.
There is nothing abnormal about a show like this. It is part of a carefully thought out sales campaign. The idea cost the bank a lot of money. Haven't we been through this before? I am quite certain it's in the contract. And don't forget you are making a profit! Don't you forget that! You are profiting!

Emiliana took the sayings a bit to seriously and had devoured two pages from an illustrated children's book about
a shitting mole when Albertina discovered the misunderstanding.
